English Conversation Programme (ECP)

The English Conversation Programme (ECP) is premised on the importance for people learning English as a foreign language to have access to native English speakers to develop better English verbal skills, including better pronunciation.

The ECP aims to enhance its beneficiaries’ attractiveness on the job market. The long term objective is that the ability to communicate orally in English, in a confident manner, should be part of the standard skill-set of our beneficiary communities, while preserving their cultural and national identities.

Achieving these goals requires a multi-layered approach and rigorous monitoring and evaluation of delivery. The ECP has been formulated to make the most of available local facilities and resources. Overall, it has been conceived as a building block for the development of the intellectual infrastructure, social capital and economic development of our beneficiary communities.

We successfully piloted the ECP in Salamieh, Syria.
